North American Testing (NAT) is an independent, third-party research and certification facility for the small flow water and wastewater treatment industry. NAT was formed in 2006 by organizations seeking a test facility in the mid-western United States that focused on water and wastewater treatment for onsite and decentralized applications. NAT provides exemplary testing and certification services to product manufacturers and confirmed quality assurance to the regulatory community. This includes certifying new products and components, continuing product compliance and engineering evaluations of system modifications as well as alternative materials for products and components.
The mission of NAT is to become the premier testing and certification organization for the decentralized wastewater treatment industry. As the population continues to grow and move beyond the reach of traditional municipal sewers, providing clean and safe water becomes more important. Regulations in the United States and around the world increasingly recognize the role that decentralized treatment technologies play in protecting public health and environmental resources. NAT is committed to facilitating the evolution of decentralized treatment technology.
